What Ubahndoku is
Ubahndoku is a daily Berlin U-Bahn themed logic puzzle presented on a 3x3 grid. The goal is to fill all nine cells with station names so that each station satisfies both the clue for its row and the clue for its column. Clue categories can include district, interchange station, U-Bahn line, and station name contains. A new puzzle is released every day and is identical for all players. Two difficulty modes, Normal and Expert, are available, and an archive of past daily puzzles lets you revisit earlier boards. The interface is available in German and English. Scores for the daily puzzle are shown out of 900 points. The game uses U-Bahn data credited to VBB and licensed under CC BY 4.0, and it is an unofficial fan project not connected to BVG or VBB.
How to play
Start by choosing an empty cell and typing a Berlin U-Bahn station name. Your entry must meet the category described by both the row clue and the column clue that meet at that cell. If a clue category is unclear, tap that clue to read an explanation. You can switch between Normal and Expert difficulty modes. Use the check-errors option to see which entries are incorrect, or choose 'Aufgeben & Lösungen' to abandon the puzzle and view the complete solution. The board has nine cells, and the maximum daily score is 900 points.
Tips
- Remember that every station you enter must satisfy the row clue and the column clue of the cell, not just one of the two.
- Use the clue explanations when a category such as 'station name contains' is ambiguous, so you know exactly what to match.
- Try both difficulty modes, Normal and Expert, to engage with the daily board in different ways.
- The past daily puzzle archive lets you revisit earlier boards and continue solving with the same row-and-column rule.
