What Zanagrams is
Each day brings a hand-built board of sixteen letters joined by bridges. Your task is to find every required hidden word, tracing along the bridges or typing a word once you spot it. Words must be at least four letters long. Only the required words are necessary to complete the puzzle; other valid words found along the bridges are optional bonus finds, and each extra word takes ten seconds off your total time. When a required word is completed, its path clears from the board, revealing the remaining words more clearly. Some letters belong to more than one required word, so they stay in place until all of those words have been found. There is no time limit: the timer is optional and can be hidden in settings, it pauses when you leave, and your progress is saved. A new board appears each day, with earlier puzzles kept in an archive. Zanagrams Master offers a larger version using twenty-five letters.
How to play
Start by scanning the web of sixteen letters and following the bridges that connect them. Look for paths that spell words of at least four letters. When you find a required word, trace the path or type the word. Completed paths disappear, making the remaining words easier to see. Remember that a letter may appear in several required words, so it stays on the board until every word using it is solved. You can also search for extra valid words along the bridges; they are optional, but each one subtracts ten seconds from your total time. If you prefer, hide the timer using the settings.
Tips
- Start with unusual letters such as J, Q, X, or Z and follow their connections to see which words branch from them.
- After a required word clears, re-scan the board; shared letters remain, so the remaining words often stand out against the empty paths.
- Look for extra valid words while solving; each one takes ten seconds off your total time, so they are worth finding even though only required words matter.
- If you need to step away, leave the puzzle: the timer pauses automatically and your progress is saved. The archive lets you return to earlier daily boards.
Common questions
Is there a time limit on the daily board?
No, the daily puzzle has no time limit. The timer is optional and can be hidden in settings. It pauses automatically when you leave and your progress is saved, so you can return later without losing anything.
What counts as an extra word find?
Any valid word of at least four letters traced along the bridges that is not one of the required words is an extra find. Extra words are optional, and each one subtracts ten seconds from your total time. Only the required words are needed to finish the puzzle.
Why do some letters stay on the board after I find a word?
A letter can be shared by more than one required word. When a completed word clears, only its path disappears; shared letters remain until all required words using them are found.
What is Zanagrams Master?
Zanagrams Master is a larger version of the puzzle that uses twenty-five letters instead of sixteen. There is also a separate Word Snake variant that uses letter clues for its hidden words.
