What Uphill is
Uphill turns general-knowledge trivia into a daily Sisyphus-style challenge. Each day brings ten new questions shared by all players. Every correct answer pushes a boulder one step up its hill; an incorrect answer near the top can roll it back a step. The position where the boulder finishes is your score for the day. The game is free, runs in the browser, and requires no sign-up. A daily streak tracks your return visits, while an archive lets you play older puzzles without affecting that streak. Sunday specials add extra questions, and a fact-of-the-day feature offers another small daily detail. You can share your daily result with friends.
How to play
Open the day's hill and work through the ten trivia questions. Choose the correct answer for each to move the boulder upward; if you answer incorrectly near the top, it rolls back one step. Your goal is to finish with the boulder as high as possible, since its final position is your score. Return each day for a fresh hill and to maintain your daily streak. To play past days, choose a puzzle from the archive; those games do not affect your streak. On Sundays, expect a special puzzle with extra questions. When the day is done, share your result with friends and check the fact of the day.
Tips
- Treat each question independently—one correct answer is worth one step, and one wrong answer near the top costs one step.
- Sunday puzzles include extra questions, so expect a slightly longer trivia session on that day.
- Playing old puzzles from the archive is a safe way to practice because it never changes your daily streak.
- Share your daily result and look at the fact of the day if you want a little extra conversation starter.
Common questions
What counts as my score in Uphill?
Your score is the boulder's final position after you answer all ten daily questions. Each correct answer moves it up one step, while a wrong answer near the top rolls it back one step, so the higher the boulder finishes, the better your score.
Can I play older puzzles without losing my streak?
Yes. The archive contains past daily puzzles, and playing them has no effect on your streak. Only returning to the current day's hill and answering its ten questions counts toward maintaining your daily streak.
Is there anything different on Sundays?
Sunday brings a special version of the daily puzzle with extra questions beyond the usual ten.
Is Uphill free and do I need an account?
Uphill is free to play in your browser and doesn't require a sign-up, so you can start answering trivia right away.
