What ThroughWord is
ThroughWord is a free daily word game that runs in your browser and takes about five minutes. You start with a set of words and must sort them into four groups of three, each group sharing a hidden connection. Once your groups are set, you then guess a single 'throughword' that fits all four groups at once.
How to play
Select and deselect words as you experiment with possible groupings. A shuffle option lets you view the word list in a new order. When you think you have the right trios, submit your answer. You have a limited number of mistakes before the puzzle ends, but you can also choose to give up (with a confirmation prompt) or reveal the throughword if you're stuck. After solving, you can copy your results to share, and you can browse an archive of previous puzzles.

How is my score calculated?
Your score combines a base of 80 points for the word groups, up to 15 points for guessing the throughword, and a bonus of up to 4 points depending on the order in which you solve the components.
Can I track my progress over time?
Yes. The game keeps a performance history that includes games played, win rate, streaks, perfect games, throughword-first solves, reverse rainbows, and a skill average. A player code system lets you import these stats across different devices.
