What SheepVote is
SheepVote is a daily web game where players around the world answer the same two questions, translated into many languages, and then try to outthink the crowd. You first vote normally on each question, but that vote earns no points. The real challenge comes next: you bet on which answer will receive the fewest votes from the global community. If you predict that minority pick correctly, you earn points and extend your daily streak. The same two questions are answered worldwide each day, so your job is to anticipate how everyone else will respond. It is free to play without signing up, but betting, scoring, and the streak are reserved for logged-in accounts. If you play without an account, your history is tied to the current device and browser and will be lost if cookies are cleared.
How to play
Start by answering the two questions of the day, which are identical for every player around the world. Then make your strategic move and bet on the answer you believe the global community will select least often. To have that bet, your score, and your consecutive-day streak tracked, create an account or log in. You can also propose one original question per day; accepted proposals earn points and may be translated and published around the world. Finally, check yesterday's results and the recent 7-day history to see how past votes unfolded.
Tips
- Remember that your normal vote is separate from your bet: vote honestly, then focus your prediction on which choice is most likely to be the least popular.
- Log in before betting if you want your points and daily streak to count across sessions; an anonymous history is tied to the current browser and can be lost if cookies are cleared.
- Use your one daily question proposal even after placing your bet; accepted submissions add a point right away and another point if the question goes live.
- Look over the 7-day history before finalizing your prediction; past global voting patterns can reveal how the community tends to answer.
Common questions
Do I need to create an account to play SheepVote?
No. You can vote on both daily questions without any account, and your votes still count toward the day's worldwide results. Betting, scoring, and the daily streak require a logged-in account. If you play anonymously, history is stored on the device and browser and is lost if cookies are cleared.
What happens when one of my proposed questions is accepted?
You can propose one original question per day. If accepted, the question earns you 1 point and your username is shown with it. When the question goes online for worldwide play, you earn 1 more point. Proposals containing hate, racism, vulgarity, or explicit content are automatically rejected, and a proposal stays locked until it is resolved.
How do I get reminders to play?
You can install the home-screen shortcut, which enables reminder notifications. The notifications are described as zero-spam and are sent only if you have not yet voted, so you will not be nagged after completing the daily questions.
Is there a prize for the best player?
Yes, the top player on the monthly leaderboard receives a SheepVote sticker measuring 8 cm, sent by postal mail.
