Partner Ballast Logic & Math is a daily deduction puzzle where five identical-looking crates each weigh a distinct whole number from 1 to 5 kg. Your goal is to determine the exact sequence of these crates from lightest to heaviest using as few balance-scale weighings as possible. Each weighing lets you place any subset of crates on the left pan, right pan, or keep them off the scale, then compares the total weight on each side. The scale tips toward the heavier side or balances, and every result is logged in a history list. A live counter shows how many possible orderings remain, and each crate displays its own set of possible weights, helping you narrow down the solution. Once you are confident, you submit your order by swapping crates in the answer row. A wrong submission adds a penalty weighing and tells you how many crates were correctly placed. The daily puzzle resets at midnight local time and is identical for all players worldwide. Solving it unlocks a harder 6-crate mode with a par of 6 weighings. There is also an unlimited practice mode with random puzzles, a 30-second 3-crate warm-up for beginners, and an archive of past puzzles. No signup or download is required, and the game runs in any modern browser with mouse or touch support.

How to play

Start by placing crates on the scale. Cycle each crate through three states: off the scale, on the left pan, or on the right pan. Press WEIGH to compare the total weight on each pan. The scale will tip toward the heavier side or balance, and the outcome is recorded in your history. Use the possibility counter and the per-crate weight labels to reason about which weights are still possible for each crate. When you believe you know the correct order, arrange the crates in the answer row by swapping any two, then submit your guess. If your submission is wrong, you will see how many crates were correctly placed and incur an extra weighing penalty. The daily puzzle has a par of 5 weighings, but you can always improve your technique in practice mode or start with the quick 3-crate warm-up.
