What Palabra Hoy is

Palabra Hoy is a daily word game in Spanish. Each day, every player faces the same hidden five-letter word and has up to six attempts to guess it. After each submitted guess, each letter receives a color clue: green means the letter is in the word and in the correct position, yellow means it appears elsewhere in the word, and gray means it is not present. The game accepts valid Spanish dictionary words, including the letter ñ and accented vowels. A new word is released every day at 6:00 Madrid time. The game is free, requires no registration, and runs in any web browser on mobile, tablet, or computer. Your statistics, such as streaks and guess distribution, are saved in your browser, and you can share your result as colored squares without exposing the solution.

How to play

To play, enter a valid five-letter Spanish word and submit it. Examine the colors given to each letter in your guess. Green tells you the letter is correct and in the right spot. Yellow tells you the letter exists in the solution but is placed incorrectly. Gray tells you the letter is not in the word at all. Use these clues to form your next guess. You may make up to six guesses for the daily word. If you do not solve it, the solution is shown. Afterward, you can share your day's result using colored blocks without writing the answer.

Tips

1. Start with a word that contains common Spanish vowels and consonants to get more color information in your first guess.
2. When a letter is yellow, try placing it in a different position in your next guess, and avoid using gray letters again.
