What Hundo is
Hundo is a daily general-knowledge guessing game built around five numeric questions. Instead of needing to know the exact answer, you set a dial to any whole number from 0 to 100 and lock in your estimate. The closer your guess is to the true answer, the better; hitting the answer exactly gives you a score of zero for that question. Rounds take about two minutes and cover estimation-friendly topics such as percentages, counts, ages, and distances. In live mode, all players' guesses appear on the same ruler at once, so you can see how your instincts compare with other people in the room. The game runs entirely in a web browser, requires no app or sign-up, and gives everyone on the same local date the same set of five questions.
How to play
To play, read the five questions for the day's round. For each one, set the dial to your best whole-number estimate from 0 to 100, then lock it in. Your score for a question is the distance between your guess and the correct answer, so closer is always better and a bullseye scores 0. Play through all five questions and compare your total with anyone else playing on the same local date. Everyone on that date sees the same set, and a new round starts at midnight in your time zone. To play together in real time, host a live game so a code and QR are shown on the big screen; others join from their phones and submit guesses before the countdown ends. You can share or view results without signing up.
Tips
- Take a moment to estimate the broad scale first; since every answer is a whole number from 0 to 100, a sensible ballpark often earns a low distance score.
- Remember that a perfect match scores 0, so the best plan is to make each of the five guesses as close as possible rather than chase one ideal answer.
- For a live game, consider bringing your own questions so the same 0-to-100 scoring can power a custom round for everyone in the room.
Common questions
Do I need an account to play Hundo?
No. The daily round is tied to an anonymous browser session, so you can set your guesses and see results without registering. Live games are also joinable from a phone without signing up, using the room code and QR.
How is my score calculated?
For each of the five questions, your score is the absolute distance between your guessed number and the correct answer. Lower is better, and a guess that matches the answer exactly gives you 0 for that question. Your round total comes from all five distances.
When does the next set of questions appear?
A new round starts at midnight in your own time zone. Everyone playing on the same local date sees the same five questions, so players who share a date are working from the same set.
