What Fold a Cube is
Fold a Cube is a free daily spatial-reasoning puzzle about seeing how a flat surface becomes a solid. You are shown a cube made of six different face patterns, and beside it a flat cube net made of six squares. Your task is to place the correct pattern on each square so that, when the net folds up, it matches the given cube exactly in face, position, and orientation. Each puzzle gives two tries, and the page marks your answer with colors: green for a correct placement, yellow for a pattern that is correct but turned the wrong way, and grey for a wrong placement. Three new puzzles arrive at midnight UTC for all players, using all 11 possible cube nets, and you can earn up to 9 points and build a streak. The first two puzzles let you rotate the cube to inspect it; the third shows it from two fixed angles. There is also an Unlimited mode for a fresh set of puzzles any time. No sign-up or ads are required, no words are needed, and the game works in any modern browser on phone or desktop in English or Chinese.
How to play
Look at the target cube and the empty net. Choose a pattern for any square on the net; the six available patterns correspond to the six faces of the cube. If a pattern is directional, rotate it 90° using the rotate button or by pressing and holding the square until its orientation matches how that face appears on the cube. Drag the cube to inspect it from every side when rotation is allowed. When you have filled all six squares, press Fold to watch the net close into a cube and see whether your placement is correct. Use the color feedback to tell which squares are right, which are right but turned, and which are misplaced. For extra practice, open Unlimited mode to receive a fresh set of puzzles whenever you like.
Tips
- When a pattern is marked yellow, keep it on the same square and rotate it 90° rather than moving it somewhere else, since the pattern is right but facing the wrong way.
- Before folding, check not only which pattern sits on each square but also which direction it points, because orientation matters as much as placement.
- For the third daily puzzle, study both fixed cube angles carefully before placing patterns, because you will not be able to rotate the cube for another view.
- Use Unlimited mode to practice with fresh puzzles at your own pace, covering the variety of cube nets without waiting for the next daily release.
Common questions
How many tries do I get per puzzle?
Each puzzle gives two tries. After you fold the net, green marks a correct placement, yellow marks a correct pattern turned the wrong way, and grey marks a wrong placement.
Do I need an account to play?
No. Fold a Cube is free to play with no sign-up and no ads. It runs in any modern browser on phone or desktop and uses no words, so the visual rules are easy to grasp.
What is Unlimited mode?
Unlimited mode provides a fresh set of puzzles any time you want extra practice. It is separate from the three daily puzzles that are released for everyone at midnight UTC.
Why is the third daily puzzle different?
The third daily puzzle shows the cube from two fixed angles and cannot be rotated, so you must solve it using only those two views. The daily set is the same for every player.
