What Fire Emblem Guess is
Fire Emblem Guess turns thirty years of tactical RPG history into a daily deduction challenge. Your objective is to identify one mystery Fire Emblem unit by typing character names and reading how each guess compares with the answer across eight trait columns: debut game, starting class, weapon types, movement, sex, realm, appearances, and race. Each guess produces green for an exact match, amber for a close match, and grey for no match, and arrows show whether the target is higher/later or lower/earlier than your guess. A free hint row at the top of the grid is always a real comparison against the answer but never the answer itself. There is no limit on the number of guesses, so the puzzle is about interpreting feedback and narrowing a 624-character roster efficiently. You can play the daily Classic mode or choose Infinite, Emblem, Pixel, and Shadow modes, each drawing from the same database while presenting clues in its own way.
How to play
Start a round by reading the free hint row at the top of the grid. The character shown there is guaranteed to be different from the answer, but the row is a genuine comparison that gives you a useful anchor. Type the name of any Fire Emblem character, using one of the five supported languages, and the game will compare it across the eight trait columns. Green means the trait matches exactly; amber means the trait is close, such as the same class family, same continent, or overlapping weapon type; grey means there is no match. Use the up/down arrows to see whether the answer is higher/later or lower/earlier than the character you tried. Keep guessing as many times as needed until every column is green. When you have solved it, you can share the result grid, which shows the number of turns without spoiling the answer. If you want variety, switch to Infinite mode for endless puzzles, Emblem mode to unlock an attribute with every miss, Pixel mode to sharpen a coarse portrait with each guess, or Shadow mode to work from a solid black silhouette.
Tips
- Start with the free hint row. Since it is always a valid comparison against the answer, its colours and arrows give you a reliable foundation for your early guesses.
- When you see amber, treat it as a bridge. Same class family, same continent, and overlapping weapon types all group characters near the answer, so amber tells you which part of the roster to explore.
- There is no reason to stop after one or two misses. With no guess limit, you can try a wider spread of characters and use the green and grey results to map the answer's traits.
- Keep alternate names in mind. The game accepts character names in English, Japanese, Spanish, French, and German, so a unit's name in another language may still count as a valid guess.
Common questions
How many guesses does a round allow?
There is no limit on the number of guesses in any mode. All 624 characters in the database are accepted as guesses, so you can keep testing names while using the coloured trait comparisons to narrow the answer.
What does amber mean?
Amber means the trait is close but not exact. The game treats the same class family, the same continent, or an overlapping weapon type as close, so amber gives useful direction rather than a clear miss.
When does the daily puzzle reset?
The daily mystery unit is the same for all players and resets at 00:00 UTC. Because each mode uses its own seed, solving one mode does not spoil the answer for the others.
Is an account required to play?
No. The game is free and does not require an account. It also has no server-side storage, so your streak information is kept in your own browser.
