What Estimania is

Estimania is a daily numerical trivia game that tests your ability to estimate real-world quantities. Each day brings five questions spanning science, geography, history, and sport. Your goal is to guess the answer as closely as possible, but the scoring system is built around logarithmic closeness. This means that getting the correct order of magnitude matters far more than hitting the exact figure. Being off by a factor of 10 from the true answer scores 0 for that question, while each question awards between 0 and 100 points. Your total for the day is out of 500. The game requires no sign-up and is completely free to play. A new puzzle appears every day at midnight UTC, and each puzzle can only be played once. You can share your score with friends, change your nickname on the leaderboard, and even submit your own question ideas. Estimania also works as a progressive web app, installable on Android and iOS devices, and offers a recovery code system to sync your progress across multiple devices. It is a solo developer passion project that focuses on pure estimation skill without any account friction.

How to play

When a new daily puzzle is available, you will see five numerical questions. For each question, enter your best guess as a number. After you have entered guesses for all five, submit your answers to see your individual question scores, your total out of 500, and your position on the leaderboard. You can then share your score with friends. If you want to play on another device, generate a recovery code to link your progress. You can also change the nickname displayed on the leaderboard at any time. If you have an idea for a question, use the submission feature to send it to the developer. To make the game more convenient on mobile, install it as a progressive web app on Android or iOS.
