What Definitions is
Definitions is a daily word puzzle from the PZL collection that turns the dictionary into a challenge of word order. Each day brings three dictionary definitions whose words have been scrambled. Your goal is to reconstruct the original order of each definition by swapping pairs of words back into place. Wordle-style feedback tells you whether each word currently occupies the correct position, so every swap gives you useful information for the next move. Restore all three definitions to a coherent sequence to complete the daily puzzle.
How to play
Begin with the first of the three jumbled definitions. Swap the positions of any two words in the sentence to change the order. After each swap, inspect the Wordle-style clues that accompany the definition. The clues show which words are now in their correct position and which are not, letting you narrow down the correct sequence. Keep swapping pairs based on that feedback until the words form a real dictionary definition. Once one definition is solved, move on to the next and repeat the process. When all three definitions have been returned to the right word order, the daily puzzle is complete.
Tips
- Use the Wordle-style clues as your main guide: after every swap, check which words are shown as correctly placed before choosing the next pair to move.
- Solve the three definitions one at a time, since each must form its own coherent dictionary definition before the whole daily puzzle is done.
- Remember that the goal is a genuine dictionary definition, so the final arrangement should read like a real entry rather than just a grammatically plausible sentence.
Common questions
How many definitions are included in a daily Definitions puzzle?
Each daily puzzle contains three dictionary definitions. You need to restore all three to the correct word order before the Definitions puzzle is complete.
What do the Wordle-style clues tell me?
The clues show whether each word in the current arrangement is in the position it should occupy in the final definition. This feedback lets you decide which words to swap next instead of guessing blindly.
Do I need to solve all three definitions together?
Each definition is unscrambled separately using the same swapping and clue-reading process. The puzzle is finished only when all three definitions have been correctly restored to the proper word order.
