What Chainle is

Each day, Chainle presents five word rounds built around a single connecting idea. In the first three rounds, two clue words wait for a bridge word that belongs with both. The fourth round asks for one word that fits all three clues, and the fifth round is a closest connection challenge, where your goal is to offer the word closest in meaning to the clues given. You get one chance to submit a single word for each round, and your answer is scored on how well it connects, with up to 1,000 points available per round and 5,000 points total across the day. All players face the same five daily rounds, and past puzzles are kept in an archive, so you can return to earlier days and play them again at your own pace.

How to play

Read the clue words shown for the current round and think about what one word could connect them. In bridge rounds, look for a word that can pair with each clue as part of a familiar phrase, compound, or shared idea. In the final closest connection round, consider the meaning behind the clues and choose the word that is nearest to that meaning. Submit exactly one word as your guess for the round. The puzzle scores your guess, then moves you to the next round. Complete all five rounds to assemble a daily total out of a possible 5,000 points. Tips

1. In two-word bridge rounds, test a candidate by pairing it with each clue in turn; if it forms a natural connection with both, it is likely a strong bridge.
2. Since only one guess is allowed per round, weigh a few possible connecting words before submitting so you choose the most precise option.
3. In the three-word bridge round, confirm that your word works with all three clues, not just one or two, before you commit.
4. For the closest connection round, focus on exact meaning rather than a loose phrase connection, because the scoring rewards how near your word is to the intended idea.
