What Appdle is

Each day, Appdle sets one secret product from the world of apps, software, and games. Your job is to identify that product within eight guesses. Every guess is compared across six clue categories: type, category, first release year, company, platforms, and brand colors. Green indicates an exact match for that clue. Amber indicates closeness, such as the same owner for a company or an earlier/later release year. By reading these six color signals together, you can make your next guess more precise. Since the same daily puzzle is given to all players and resets at 00:00 UTC, each puzzle feels like a shared challenge.

How to play

Start by entering a guess for today's app, software, or game. After each guess, you will see six comparisons based on the clue categories. Use green clues as confirmation that part of your guess matches exactly. Use amber clues as a nudge to adjust the relevant category, perhaps by choosing a product with the same owner or a release year that is closer to the real one. Keep refining your next guess using the feedback until you identify the secret product. You can make up to eight guesses before the puzzle ends. Play for free on the web, with no app download required. The game runs in a web browser and needs JavaScript enabled.

Tips

1. Use your first guess to collect data: even a broad answer still produces six color signals that tell you something about each clue category.
2. When a company clue shows amber, think about parent companies and ownership links rather than just alternate names, since same-owner relationships count as a near match.
3. Treat brand colors as a real clue: if your guess's colors are a full match, that green result can help confirm you have found the right product.
